Okay, so I admit it. I neglected the blog a bit over the holidays. I put down the computer and picked up the pie. Fortunately
I am happy to report that although I gave up the blog for my 12 day vacation, I did not give up on running. I am very blessed to have received most of the gifts on my wish list from a handful of friends and family, which kept me motivated to get a couple of runs in despite the cold weather.
I received two pairs of the lululemon crop pants that I had so coveted, and took each pair for a spin, sporting my Garmin 305.
Ahhh, the Garmin 305. This magical, miraculous
Now, I can check my pace while I run, view the total time, distance and time of day, along with heart rate, calories burned and lap times. The lap times might be my favorite part. I have set up the watch to automatically start a new lap at each mile so I can later compare my lap times. Fabulous!
The one thing I have not tried and I am really looking forward to using, is the ghost feature on the watch, so that I may race against myself and my previous personal best.
There are still so many fun things that hubby and I received for Christmas that we have yet to play with, and I am looking forward to those and so many other things in 2012.
In 2012, I will run my first half-marathon and my first marathon if all goes according to plan. I intend to run more, read more, and stress less. I am determined to spend more time with family and less time stressing over work. Much less time stressing over work. I will nurture my relationship with God and spend more time in Church and worship. I will be a better version of myself. The best version I can be.
So bring it on, 2012! I'm ready!
I love my 305. Seriously, love. I got it last year for Christmas and I have rarely run without it. I haven't used nearly all the features that it offers...including the ghost feature. I have some 5ks that I ran last year on my schedule for 2012 - so I may have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with training for your first half marathon. I am currently training for my 2nd half, but I still have not committed to a full yet. I'm not sure when or if that will happen.
